Editorial Review and Publication Decision
 

All submissions will only be sent for review if the Editor-in-Chief together with the managing editors determine that the paper meets the appropriate quality and relevance requirements. Subsequently, the submissions will be double-blind peer-reviewed.

 

The managing editor team will select reviewers who have suitable expertise in the relevant field. Confidentiality of the review process will adhere to the COPE ethical guidelines for peer review (2013 version1). Acceptance criteria for all papers are based on the quality, originality and its significance to our readership.

 

The managing editorial team will mediate all exchanges between authors and peer reviewers during this peer-review process. The Editor-in-Chief together with additional peer reviewers may be invited to help make the final decision if deemed necessary by the managing editors.

 

 

Conflict of Interest

 

Editors and reviewers should decline to be involved with submission if they

 

  • have a close personal connection to any author

  • collaborate or recently have collaborated with any author

  • have a financial interest in the subject of the work

  • are unable to be objective

 

 

Decision Appeals


Appeals should be filed within 28 days of notification of the decision. The appeal should be in the form of a letter addressed and submitted to the Malaysian Journal of Qualitative Research Editorial Office. A clear and concise ground for the appeal including any specific points should be included in the letter of appeal.

 

The appeal will be assessed by the executive editorial team led and informed by the managing editorial team. The appeal’s outcome will be in writing, normally within 28 working days. The decision will be final.

 

Authorship and acknowledgements

 

All listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution to the research in the manuscript, approved its claims and agreed to be an author according to the COPE guidelines.

 

Prior to submitting the article, all authors should agree on the order in which their names are listed in the manuscript. Any changes to authorship including, adding, removing or rearranging the authorship list must be made before the manuscript has been accepted and only with approval from the Editor-in-Chief and managing editors.
